1. Application of Terms
All road freight, tautliner, bottom dump, side tipper, and agricultural transport brokerage operations conducted by New Balance Logistics (Pty) Ltd ("The Company") are subject to these Standard Trading Terms and Conditions.
By engaging New Balance Logistics for road freight haulage across South Africa and Africa, clients, dispatchers, and carriers agree to be bound by the trading principles stipulated herein.
2. Goods-In-Transit (GIT) Insurance (R1,500,000 Cover)
All freight loads brokered and transported through New Balance Logistics are covered under our active Senate Transport Brokers Contingent GIT Policy (Policy #2018-0911) with up to R1,500,000.00 coverage per vehicle payload, subject to the following statutory conditions:
- Cargo must be declared accurately on the official Bill of Lading (BOL) manifest prior to vehicle dispatch.
- High-value cargo exceeding standard GIT limits must be declared in writing 24 hours prior to loading to arrange supplementary underwriting.
- Hazardous materials or prohibited cargo not declared in writing will void contingent insurance coverage.
Senate Contingent Policy Guarantee
Our contingent cover provides secondary protection ensuring that even in cross-carrier operations, your agricultural grain, bulk mining commodities, and commercial goods remain comprehensively insured from loading depot to offloading point.
3. Loading & Demurrage Fees
The Company allows a standard 3-hour loading and 3-hour offloading window per 34-ton superlink truck at designated collection and delivery depots.
Any vehicle detention exceeding this operational window will incur demurrage fees billed at standard commercial hourly rates to compensate carriers for route downtime.
4. Payment Terms & Rate Estimates
All freight tariffs generated via our website represent estimates based on distance (km), route topography, and vehicle payload requirements. Official binding rates are issued upon truck dispatch confirmation and credit vetting approval.
5. Jurisdiction & Governance
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from freight brokerage operations shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
